Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bistro Cook or Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Bistro/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the food industry .
Duties:
- Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
- Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
- Follow recipes to produce Grab and Go food items.
- Assist the Sous Chef with execution of catered events.
- Assist with maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
- Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
- Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply
- Other duties as required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Prep Cook or Dietary Aide is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods
- Familiarity with menu planning and recipe execution
- Understanding of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Skills:
- Strong knife skills for precise cutting and slicing
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient meal preparation
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
This is a Part-Time/ On- Call position.
Rate: $14.00/ hour
