The Asset Management Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial performance, reporting, and strategic oversight of the commercial real estate asset portfolio. This position plays a key role in driving property value and performance through proactive collaboration with third-party property management and leasing teams. The Analyst ensures accurate financial tracking, variance analysis, and adherence to budgetary goals while contributing to strategic asset-level decisions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for the strategic management of the company’s commercial real estate portfolio. This position focuses on optimizing asset value through operational oversight, financial analysis, and strategic planning. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Development, Finance, Property Management, and Leasing, to ensure the portfolio's financial performance aligns with the company's long-term goals and market trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate existing assets
- Review and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for commercial assets, conduct.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis against budgets and prior periods; investigate and explain discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal accounting teams to ensure timely month-end close and reconciliation processes.
- Assist in preparing annual property budgets and periodic reforecasts.
- Track and report capital expenditures and ensure alignment with capital plans.
Asset Performance & Analysis
- Monitor property performance metrics (NOI, occupancy, leasing activity, capital improvements).
- Support preparation of hold/sell analyses, valuations, and strategic recommendations.
- Participate in periodic asset reviews and recommend operational or financial improvements.
Collaboration with Third-Party Property Managers
- Serve as a liaison between ownership and third-party property management firms.
- Review property-level financial packages submitted by managers and provide feedback.
- Ensure property managers are adhering to lease terms, budgets, and operational best practices.
- Assist in evaluating vendor contracts and reviewing scopes of work for operating and capital expenses.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset files, including leases, contracts, and performance reports.
- Prepare internal reports for executive leadership summarizing property-level updates and trends.
- Assist with investor reporting and requests for information.
Process Improvement & Support
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting and asset management workflows.
- Support internal audits, property inspections, and compliance initiatives as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stay current on commercial real estate trends, accounting standards, and market conditions.
- Support special projects, dispositions, acquisitions, and refinancing efforts as needed.
- Perform related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance Real Estate, or a related field, required.
EXPERIENCE
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in real estate accounting, asset management, or financial analysis.
- Experience working with third-party property managers is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to commercial real estate (retail, office, industrial) is a plus.
