Job Overview
We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager with experience in sign fabrication and installation. This role involves managing projects from initial client contact through final installation, ensuring each job is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with our high-quality standards. You’ll coordinate closely with clients, the in-house design and production teams, local authorities, and vendors to guarantee a smooth project flow.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, gathering requirements and providing regular project updates.
  • Handle incoming inquiries, conduct site surveys, and capture essential project details.
  • Work with city officials, committees, and agencies (such as CalTrans) to obtain necessary permits or approvals.
  • Track and manage all related documentation to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, defining tasks, deadlines, and resources required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (design, production, installation) to confirm timelines and ensure seamless project handoffs.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers, ensuring materials are ordered and delivered on schedule.
  • Monitor vendor performance and negotiate terms when needed to stay within budget.
  • Work closely with the production team to address any design or fabrication challenges.
  • Oversee installation processes, ensuring safety protocols are followed and clients’ expectations are met.
  • Take full responsibility for projects from start to finish, proactively addressing potential issues before they escalate.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties to keep projects moving forward and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of project budgets, change orders, and relevant documentation.
  • Provide regular status reports to management, highlighting progress, risks, and any proposed solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2 years in project management, preferably in the signage industry or a related field (e.g., custom fabrication).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with sign-making processes, permitting, and basic design principles. Ability to read blueprints or shop drawings is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable liaising with clients, city officials, and in-house teams.
  • Organization & Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with standard project management or scheduling software. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is essential.
  • Teamwork & Problem-Solving: Strong collaborative skills, plus the ability to tackle unexpected challenges with confidence.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification in Construction Management, Project Management, or a similar field is advantageous but not mandatory.
