Job Description
Production planning of multiple production processes in a fast-paced automotive environment. Daily communication with multiple production departments and customer service to ensure on time delivery to our customers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Production planning of multiple production process and roughly 500 end items.
- Daily communication both verbal and written with multiple production departments.
- Ability to work with production teams to meet throughput goals.
- Production forecasting.
- Maintain greater than 98% on time delivery to our customer’s.
- Maintain acceptable inventory turnover levels.
- Work together with customer service team to reduce customer back-orders and premium freight.
- Interacts with customer service and manufacturing management when unexpected demand occurs.
- Both lead and participate in cross functional teams with the goal of continuous improvement and cost reductions.
- Able to effectively communicate with customers when needed.
- Review open requirements, manage & schedule raw materials in support of production plans, expediting where necessary.
- Assure that orders are entered into and updated within SAP in an accurate and timely manner.
- Review invoices for purchased commodities as required by Accounts Payable. Assure that documentation is correct. Resolve discrepancy problems with Accounts Payable in a timely manner.
- Analyze/adjust inventory levels to coincide with lead time changes. Update lead times in SAP.
- Review and place purchase orders for MRO requests and all office supplies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to reflect corporate guidelines and plant objectives for inventory
- Perform monthly cycle counts on all raw materials.
- Communicate materials discrepancies to MP&L director for review.
- Investigate any material loss or gains and root cause issues.
- Learn SAP transactions and movements used for cycle counting.
- Assist in ensuring FIFO process is being followed, escalate if needed. Work to reduce expired inventory.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or minimum of 8 year production planning experience
- 5 year’s experience working in Production Control or Materials Management
- Proficiency with electronic work processing, spreadsheet, and database software
- Thorough understanding of MRP software, SAP experience preferred
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written communication)
- Attention to detail
- Highly organized
