Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Logistics Supervisor to lead the shipping and receiving operations at our Brighton site. This role involves supervising the shipping, receiving, and warehousing functions to ensure operational goals related to safety, production, and budgets are achieved. As a subject matter expert, you will ensure compliance with DOT requirements for outbound finished goods and waste transportation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of ~4 employees to maintain site safety, housekeeping standards, and productivity goals.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations for shipping hazardous materials.
- Resolve operational issues and provide guidance to employees.
- Manage all aspects of team development, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and discipline.
- Oversee the site's 90-day Hazardous Waste accumulation area and coordinate waste shipments with third-party providers.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reviews for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) incidents.
- Manage material plans, staffing, and workflow to ensure efficient operations.
- Lead housekeeping improvement initiatives and establish long-term maintenance programs.
- Collaborate across departments including Production, Maintenance, EHS, and Quality to meet site goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or 5 years of logistics industry experience.
- Proven team leadership or management experience.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOT, IATA, and IMDG certifications for hazardous material shipping.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Competency in computer applications and data management.
- Ability to demonstrate analytical thinking, initiative, and results-oriented leadership.
Compensation Range: $95,000-$105,000 per year
