About the role
If hired as a Project Architect, you will initially be responsible for assisting with multiple projects in various stages such as schematic design, design development, and construction documents. After a period of guidance and acclamation, you will take on all stages of project production and management, from the initial design concept to the completion of construction. This is an in-person position with limited remote work opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation of renderings, animations, and other Schematic drawings to help communicate with the client the vision of their project.
- Responsible for and participate in all phases of design including Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation.
- Establish the factual parameters of the design work such as code compliance, site restrictions, budget and schedule restraints. Research building systems options and related performance and cost criteria.
- Learn and implement state and federal agency funding program requirements as well as historic review requirements into the project when needed.
- Collaborate with external consultants – MEP, Structural Engineering, Civil/Landscape.
- Create accurate drawings using established firm standards to relay design concepts clearly to clients as well as contractors.
- Perform in-house construction administration tasks such as responding to RFI’s, reviewing and approving submittals, issuing revisions, etc.
- Conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with construction documents and to verify contractor Pay Applications. Some out-of-state travel will be required.
Education & Experience
- Professional Degree in Architecture
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in an Architectural firm.
- Achievement of State of Oklahoma Architectural license.
Technical Skills
- Good communication, coordination, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with current design trends, materials, detailing and construction practices.
- Working and/or advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software preferred.
- Working knowledge of Sketchup and/or other associated rendering software.
- Experienced using Outlook and other MS Office software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate well internally and externally.
