Our Maintenance Mechanics are key members of our operations team, responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. Ideal candidates have strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments of equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, performing timely repairs to minimize disruptions
- Collaborate with production teams to fine-tune machinery for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventories using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout / tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure equipment meets OSHA and company standards
- Respond promptly to breakdowns or urgent repair needs, working to restore operations as quickly as possible
- Assist with the installation and testing of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems
- Work closely with engineers, machine operators, and other mechanics to resolve issues and plan long-term maintenance strategies
- Share knowledge and expertise with team members, providing guidance on proper equipment use and care
- Comfortable working in a shift-based system, including weekends and overtime as required
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The starting base pay for this role is between $37 / hr and $47 / hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for overtime.
