Position Overview:
Silco is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Backflow Technician. This role involves accurately testing, diagnosing, and resolving backflow-related issues in the field. Candidates must either hold a current Ohio backflow license or have a minimum of five years of experience in the fire sprinkler or plumbing trades. Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
Compensation ranges from$60,000 - $90,000 per year based on experience and productivity. Silco has annual compensation raises based on merit.

Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, services, and installations on backflow prevention devices in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot backflow system issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company and code standards.
- Complete inspection reports, detailing system status, deficiencies, and any corrective actions taken.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, maintenance activities, and repairs, ensuring documentation meets industry standards and company policies.
- 5yrs plumbing or fire sprinkler experience OR Ohio Backflow License
- Ohio Backflow License
- Technical and mechanical knowledge, aptitude, and interest
- Successfully passing state certification exams in expected timeframes
- Desire to learn and master new fire systems
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years mechanical or electrical experience or technical training
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
- Ability to lift heavy items periodically
- Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening and background check
