Full-Time
Shifts Available:
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday)
- Night Shift: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (Monday - Thursday)
- Weekend Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Friday - Sunday)
Position Overview
At SilencerCo, our Metal Finish Technicians specializing in Black Ox (Black Ox) play a crucial role in preparing and treating manufactured parts to achieve a high-quality, durable finish. This role focuses on Black Oxide coating, a chemical conversion process that enhances corrosion resistance and aesthetics while maintaining dimensional integrity.

Key Responsibilities
- Black Oxide Processing – Operate, monitor, and maintain Black Ox equipment to ensure consistent and high-quality finishes.
- Visual Inspection – Inspect parts for imperfections, such as dings, dents, and scratches, before and after treatment.
- Surface Preparation – Perform deburring, tumbling, blasting, and other pre-treatment processes to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
- Process Monitoring – Maintain proper chemical bath compositions, temperatures, and dwell times to ensure uniform coating results.
- Routine Maintenance – Conduct regular upkeep of Black Oxide tanks, industrial wash systems, and high-temperature furnaces.
- Problem-Solving – Identify and troubleshoot processing issues, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Data Collection & Quality Control – Used process control measurements and collected data to ensure Black Ox process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Safety & Compliance – Follow all SilencerCo safety standards and procedures, including handling of chemicals, PPE requirements, and injury prevention protocols.
- General Metal Finish Tasks – Assist in other metal preparation duties as needed, including operating industrial wash, blast, and tumble machinery.
Qualifications & Skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Black Oxide coating or similar metal finishing processes.
- Ability to operate complex hand tools and industrial equipment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Willingness to adapt to process improvements and changes.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools, and quality control.
- Comfort using power/air tools for extended periods.
- Familiarity with SilencerCo products is a plus.
Required:
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- 1 year of basic work experience.
