What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strip Fed Press Operator position at Silgan Closures?
- Operate automatic strip fed press, lugger, compo machine and oven
- Load strips into the magazine of press
- Responsible for quality of production
- Inspect caps visually with test blocks.
- Inspect caps using automatic gauging equipment and enter date into SPC system
- Remove full cartons of caps from underneath counter
- Position empty cartons on conveyor
- Seal and stack full cartons on skids
- Fill out labels for finished boxes
- Monitor and make adjustments to cap height, lug length, plastisol thickness as necessary
- Remove jams
- Monitor AVI rejects and determine responsibility of defective product. Notify supervisor of findings.
- Grease and oil machines
- Occasionally assist the mechanic as needed
- Keep assigned work area neat and clean
- Relieve as required
Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor
