Senior FEA Engineer

The Senior FEA analyst will serve primarily as the analysis engineer focusing on FEA for new product development projects. The Analysis Engineer will provide high-level computational analysis support and critical review of designs at the project leader's or design engineer's request across the business functions. Requests for analysis can also come from manufacturing to support existing products or assembly processes. In this role, the senior FEA Analyst will collaborate with all business areas and participate in the multi-disciplinary brainstorming or blue-sky concept meetings outside of traditional analysis areas intending to provide an alternative view of design concepts. It is also expected that the Senior FEA analyst will stay informed of the latest advances in the field, from both the Engineering software and hardware perspectives, and make recommendations for improvements in accuracy and timeliness of results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent, with demonstrated engineering skills emphasizing computational simulation.
• 5 years industrial experience with engineering software such as Ansys (mechanical / Autodyne / Fluent), Abaqus, LS dyna, or COMSOL Multiphysics (Ansys experience highly Preferred) for engineering simulation and advancement of a new product or product enhancements.
• Experience in applying non-linear static structural, transient explicit dynamics methods on real-world problem-solving.
• Analyze FEA simulation data, providing conclusions and design recommendations in report format using Microsoft Office applications.
• A commitment to providing accurate information that meets deadline commitments.
• Advanced degree (MS / Ph.D.) in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent with emphasis on computational simulation.
• Materials experience in determining material properties and test methods for polymer materials.
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical and Polymer Fem Mcalibration.
• Experience in applying non-linear static structural and transient explicit dynamics methods using polymer materials to real-world problem-solving.
• CFD Experience
