- Assist with changeovers
- Stage coils on all lines and keep all lines stocked with coils using the HOIST forklift.
- Assist all DRD lines as needed (Break coverage)
- Performs in-process tests such as contamination tests, enamel rating, compound film weights, copper sulfate test, water test, stripe weights, enamel slitter/scroll registration, axial & panel tests, etc.
- Checks and records can and end physical dimensions.
- Check sheet length, squareness, and related inspections.
- Water test, tester rejects - inspects as needed to maintain acceptable quality level.
- Checks function ability of testers.
- Visually inspect all operations at the company's prescribed frequencies.
- Removes defective production from lines and issues. Hold Work Sheets as needed to conform to company standards.
- Accurately records tests, inspections, and related data, including computer data input.
- Initiates H.F.I.s, accurately identifies discrepant material, and maintains a record of the same.
- Works with mechanics, operating personnel, and supervision to ensure a quality product.
- Performs related work assignments as required.
- Maintains work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs assigned duties in a self-sustaining manner with minimum supervision or direction.
- Attendance at weekly Safety Meetings and other meetings as instructed.
- Ability to read and comprehend operating instructions, manuals, specifications, and other written material.
- Skilled in using inspection gauges and computer data entry, as well as knowledge of tinplate, coating material, etc.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and other line personnel.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Shift work and overtime are required as needed.
- The employee is regularly exposed to a loud environment, moving mechanical parts/machinery and chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Must follow the “Riverside Code of Conduct for Job Performance.”
- Report unusual events or emergencies to the Supervisor immediately.
- Consult with the Supervisor regarding company policies and procedures.
- Perform all duties regarding the safety of self and fellow employees, with proper care and protection of company property.
- Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be a qualified journeyman-level Inspector or successfully completed the Inspector Trainee program.
