Job Title : Automation Technician
Reports to : Manager of Maintenance & Automation
Job Description : Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the controls and automation equipment which includes troubleshooting, preforming program backups, and system upgrades. Direct involvement with cross-functional team that include safety, quality, engineering, and production. This position will provide technical guidance to other members of the maintenance team and other technical members of Silgan.
Job Responsibilities :
- Installation, start-up, and maintenance of high-volume automated production machinery.
- Ability to perform changeovers on auxiliary equipment when needed.
- Assists struggling co-workers, will fill in where needed without being asked.
- Crossed trained in other multiple job functions, to help create bench strengths in other areas.
- Displays personal accountability, recognizes problems, and responds accordingly.
- Always goes above and beyond, stays above the line, and works as a lift for fellow co-workers.
- Adhere to current and future company standards for conducting work and safety inspections of equipment.
- Work safely and in a manner consistent with all OSHA and internal safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Previous Experience :
Alternatively, 3 years maintenance and / or automation work experience in a manufacturing environment
