Job Description
The Process Technician plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing activities, ensuring adherence to set standards for each production run to meet customer expectations.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

- Perform setup and troubleshooting of injection molding machines, including startup/shutdown procedures and mold setting.
- Diagnose and address machinery issues to ensure the production of parts meeting specified quality standards.
- Uphold processes to meet or exceed company benchmarks for efficiency and utilization.
- Validate process parameters and implement necessary adjustments to enhance cycle times.
- Monitor process and workstation data outlined in mold setup sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Address and resolve scrap issues promptly.
- Collaborate with Quality Department to enhance process control measures.
- Adhere to all company processes and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Foster an environment conducive to personal and professional development and excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws pertaining to workplace safety.
Qualifications
To perform this role effectively, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Education and Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a process technician in a plastic injection molding environment.
- Experience with both hot runners and insulate runner systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in comprehending process setup instructions and company policies.
- Scientific molding experience a plus.
- Certification from an injection molding program is a plus.
- Familiarity with computerized inventory tracking systems (experience with IQMS is advantageous).
- Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a group setting with minimal supervision.
Language Skills
Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety regulations, operating manuals, and procedural guidelines.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply logical reasoning to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form, and to tackle problems involving multiple variables in standardized scenarios.
Physical Demands
This role requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, talking, and hearing regularly. Additionally, employees will frequently engage in manual tasks such as handling materials and operating machinery. Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
