Formed in 2016, Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is a public Community Choice Energy service provider serving approximately 270,000 residential and commercial customer accounts in thirteen Santa Clara County communities. About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst supports Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) by performing research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to support business decision making, strategy and operations across the agency. The position provides financial analysis, project coordination, treasury management, and analytical support to SVCE staff and works collaboratively with all SVCE teams.

In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst is expected to contribute to the monitoring of SVCE's financial cash flow, assessing counterparty credit worthiness, monitoring and managing the counterparty credits and collateral as well as assisting in other Finance operational needs.

This position is hybrid in Sunnyvale, CA.

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of Finance.

Essential Functions

Compile and analyze large complex financial data. Develop and maintain data models for budgeting, what-if analysis, cash flow analysis, budget vs. actuals, and for other business purposes.Build, manage, and maintain complex company budgets to ensure accuracy and efficiency.Develop and track business metrics. Develop and maintain standard, custom, and ad-hoc reports.Manage treasury functions. Such as cash flow monitoring and business insurance coverages and renewals.Work with external contractors and accountants to ensure invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner.Organize and monitor counterparty credits and collateral.Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, internal policies, and relevant laws and regulations.Work with auditors to complete annual audits.Prepare a variety of professional reports, presentations, and correspondence.Perform quality assurance and business process improvement activities; including performance or quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication, and training.Explore investment opportunities and implement cash optimization strategies to ensure positive cash flow.Identify opportunities to improve and streamline Agency programs, departmental procedures, and outcomes.

Qualifications

Experience and Training Guidelines : Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :

EDUCATION :

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. Or equivalent work experience required.Master's of Business Administration or graduate degree (in the aforementioned fields) can substitute up to one year of the required experience.

EXPERIENCE :

3-5 years of progressively responsible financial experiencePrior work financial experience in clean energy-related products or services at an : Energy services companyEngineering, management or consulting companyElectric utilityPublic agencyEnergy products companyOther similar organizations

LICENSE :

Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst license highly desirableValid Class C California driver's license and a safe driving record or the ability to provide alternate transportation as approved by the CEO.
