A leading home builder is seeking a Land Development Manager to oversee the development of raw land and the delivery of lots for building communities. This role collaborates closely with the Division President and the Land Development team to meet business goals, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Manage on-site land development activities, including grading, drainage, utility installation, paving, and landscaping, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate daily with trade partners and subcontractors to address issues, maintain schedules, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, verify quality, and ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
  • Work closely with municipalities, utility providers, and inspectors to secure necessary approvals and resolve any field-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including construction, purchasing, and sales, to align land development efforts with overall project timelines and goals.
  • Provide updates to the VP of Ops on project status, including budget tracking, schedule adherence, and any emerging risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of field activities, including daily reports, change orders, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 5 years of experience in land development or site construction, with a focus on field operations within the homebuilding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of grading, utility installation, and road construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, grading plans, and utility layouts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address field issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with trade partners, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
