What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Teacher Grades 7-8 and/or Algebra 1 position at Siloam Springs Chamber?
Title : Math Teacher Middle School
Description : Math Teacher capable of teaching either standards in Grades 7 or 8, and Algebra 1.
Qualifications : Applicants must have a current Arkansas Teaching License and a licensure code to teach Algebra 1. Applicants must have effective instructional skills and experiences, along with a proven background in education. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
Reports To : Principal and Assistant Principal
Terms of Employment : 190 days with benefits provided according to the Siloam
Springs School Board policies.
Essential Job Functions :
- Work collaboratively with content team (PLC) and grade level interdisciplinary team.
- Teach the Arkansas Math Standards associated with Grade 7 and / or Grade 8
- Implement a variety of effective, research based instructional strategies consistently to engage learners with the essential learning standards.
- Monitor and assess student progress frequently, using both formative and summative assessments, and provide appropriate feedback.
- Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and / or support student needs
- Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners, reteaching when needed and extending learning for others.
- Effectively implement district initiatives.
- Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
- Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
- Embrace middle school model and philosophy.
