Lab Assistant Full Time

Key Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the procurement of blood specimens via venipuncture or skin puncture technique
• Preparation of specimens for testing and processing including but not limited to receiving and accessioning specimens
• Performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory waived test by following policies and procedures
• Ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program
• Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to the manufactures instructions
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. 
• Requires High School diploma or GED and 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Works under immediate supervision.
• Assists with laboratory billing
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Key Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
