Overview:
The M365 Engineer will support the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS) program, providing cloud computing and engineering services for DoD customers. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining M365 enterprise cloud capabilities, ensuring compliance with DoD security and governance standards. The M365 Engineer will also collaborate with stakeholders, analyze customer requirements, optimize system performance, and provide technical expertise on cloud solutions.
Location:
Hybrid – 60% Onsite in Chantilly, VA, or Ft. Meade, MD
Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizen eligible for Top Secret).
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain M365 and Azure cloud infrastructure to support DoD operations.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cloud governance frameworks, including CC-SRG, SCCA, and CAP architectures.
- Manage cloud infrastructure, VPNs, relational databases, auto-scaling, and compute resources.
- Develop and implement high-availability, contingency planning, and automated provisioning strategies.
- Design and optimize IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions for secure and efficient cloud deployment.
- Provide expertise on storage and security solutions in multi-tenancy cloud environments.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Teams.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams and technical stakeholders to determine best practices for deployment.
- Present and communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct research on cloud migration strategies and industry best practices to enhance DoD cloud adoption.
- Develop technical documentation, reports, and proposals for cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Implement and manage Microsoft Graph, PowerShell scripting, and automation to enhance system efficiency.
- Support security policies, including conditional access, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), information protection, and compliance.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- 8 years of experience in Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud administration.
- Strong understanding of DoD cloud security requirements and compliance (e.g., IL5/IL6 environments).
- Experience managing M365 environments, including Azure AD (Entra), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Graph, PowerShell scripting, and automation.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Security principles, cloud governance, and identity protection strategies.
