Cannery Line Lead

As a Can Line Lead at our Alaskan processing facilities, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific production line in our seafood processing plant. Your primary duties include managing a team of workers, ensuring product quality and safety, and meeting production targets. You will monitor the line's performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement process improvements. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key requirements for this role.

Essential Functions/Qualifications

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

• Assist with cannery production including filling in for any position if/when needed.
• Provide guidance and train staff for each job station.
• Ensure crew attendance and punctuality.
• Enforce safety and sanitation policies/standards.
• Ensure all equipment is set up and running properly.
• Take preventative measures to avoid production setbacks.
• Ensures rotation of cannery staff during meals and breaks.
• Other duties to ensure facility and organization is fully supported and successful.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
• 3 to 6 months of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in seafood industry or manufacturing not required but preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.

Physical Demands
While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
