Silver Birch of Fort Wayne is looking for a reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our team! This is a full-time, 30 hour per week position reporting to the Environmental Services Manager.

What you will be doing:
- Completing general maintenance tasks
- Repairing and replacing drywall, paint, cabinetry, lighting, fixtures, and flooring
- Plumbing maintenance for sinks, toilets, and showers
- Moving and assembling furniture
- Completing work orders and keeping records of repairs
- Providing transportation for residents using the community van
- Providing back-up support for Housekeeping
Your skills/experience for success:
- One (1) or more years of experience in a maintenance positions, healthcare or multi-unit experience preferred
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing and excellent driving record
- Working knowledge of basic maintenance functions
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment
- Ability to receive and follow verbal and written direction
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong customer service orientation
- Comfortable working with senior population
- Basic computer skills
