Job Title : Fuel and Lube Technician

Position Type and Schedule : Full-Time
Schedule : Monday-Friday 6 : 00am-3 : 00pm and Saturday 7 : 00am-1 : 00pm, as needed
Pay Range : $18-$24 per hour DOE
About the role
- The Fuel and Lube Technician is responsible for maintaining and servicing fuel and lubrication systems for mining equipment and machinery. This includes fueling, lubrication, inspection, and performing minor maintenance on machines to ensure efficient operation. The role plays a vital part in supporting the fleet's reliability, minimizing downtime, and enhancing the longevity of equipment in a mining environment.
What you"ll do
Fueling Operations :Safely refuel heavy mining equipment, trucks, and machinery.
Ensure that fuel dispensing systems are operating efficiently and safely.Monitor fuel levels and report shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.Lubrication Services :Conduct routine lubrication of mining equipment and machinery as per manufacturer recommendations.
Apply correct lubricants to specific machinery parts to ensure smooth operation and reduce wear and tear.Maintain accurate records of lubricants used and applied systems.Maintenance and Inspections :Inspect fuel tanks, lube systems, and other related equipment for leaks, damage, or wear.
Perform minor repairs on fuel and lube equipment when necessary.Report any malfunctioning fuel or lubrication equipment to the maintenance team for repair.Equipment Maintenance :Assist in cleaning and servicing various mining vehicles and machinery.
Monitor and ensure the cleanliness of fuel systems and storage tanks to prevent contamination.Replace or clean fuel filters as necessary.Safety and Compliance :Follow strict safety protocols and guidelines for handling fuels and lubricants.
Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations related to fuel storage, dispensing, and maintenance.Conduct regular safety checks to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.Inventory and Record Keeping :Maintain inventory of fuel, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
Ensure accurate recordkeeping of fuel consumption, lubrication schedules, and maintenance tasks.Order fuel and lubrication supplies as required and ensure proper storage.Collaboration and Reporting :Work closely with maintenance teams to identify and address any equipment performance issues.
Report on equipment condition and make recommendations for improvements to the supervisor.Coordinate with other departments to ensure uninterrupted equipment operations.Qualifications
Education and Experience :High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in fuel and lubrication systems or mechanical maintenance is preferred.Previous experience in fueling and lubricating heavy equipment, preferably in mining, construction, or industrial settings.Skills and Abilities :Strong understanding of fuel and lubrication systems in heavy machinery.
Ability to work safely with hazardous materials.Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.Ability to perform physical tasks and work in varying weather conditions.Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.Physical Requirements :Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and challenging environments.Comfortable working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.Working Conditions :
Environment : Outdoor work in remote mining locations, exposure to hazardous conditions, and machinery.Schedule : Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and nights depending on site requirements.PPE : Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety boots, gloves, helmet, and eye protection.Compensation and Benefits :
