Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Some college credit is preferred.
- Experience working in a classroom setting is preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- The Instructional Assistant will work with students in the middle (grades 2-5) school setting.
- The Instructional Assistant will work at the direction of the principal and classroom teacher, assisting students with various tasks to be carried out as part of the instructional plan.
- Collaborate with special education teacher to implement student individualized education plans
- Use assigned instructional learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment
- Maintain confidentiality
- Report to supervising teachers and follow assigned plans
- Adjust to flexible schedules and tasks as needed.
- Assist special education students with assignments/projects, individually or in groups
- Train in specialized interventions for students, as needed
- Maintain accurate performance records of students and communicate progress to supervising special education teacher
- Support students in the general education environment, as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with others
- Support the Mission Statement of the district and school
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically assist students as needed
- Attend staff and team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance
