Summary: Performs pre-analytical duties on specimens for Pathology, includes Histology and Cytology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accessions specimens for Histology
- Specimen embedding
- Performs slide cover slipping and labeling as needed
- Manual routine and special staining
- Cleans and maintains instruments
- Assists pathologists/pathologists assistants with bone marrow procedures as necessary
- Specimen rotation/disposal
- Assists with inventory control
- Assists in accessioning, staining, and cover slipping specimens for Cytology when needed
- Other duties as required for departmental operation
- Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
- Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in a science related field preferred. Two years additional training in biology, medical terminology, and laboratory sciences preferred.

Days, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekend rotation required

The expected pay for this position is listed below:
$18.00 - $22.50
The final offered salary will take several factors into consideration, including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
