Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with customers. The successful candidate will be the face of the brand, promoting and selling the line to retailers, while at the same time training and supporting store staff for ultimate sell through to the end consumer. In addition, the Sales Representative will be expected to maintain accurate records and report on sales activities, be highly organized, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase skills, and play an important role in driving growth in the US for an award-winning, international nursery brand.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for cultivating, managing and continuously growing relationships with select retail partners and their staff to sell in, promote and sell through the Silver Cross line.
  • Spend 1 day a week at home recapping the past week planning your week, then make in-person sales visits the other 4 days (understanding that 1 of those days may or may not be a Saturday or Sunday).
  • Provide training on product knowledge, merchandising and sales techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential, influence orders and forecasts exploring/delivering across all categories and products within the Silver Cross family.
  • Support key consumer and retailer events, being the face of the brand and providing customers with first class expertise.
  • Manage customer call file ensuring accounts are visited every 4 - 6 weeks.
  • Create biweekly call plans and provide comprehensive contact reports after each visit.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and develop strategies to continuously improve all.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify areas for improvement.
  • Help develop and implement promotional strategies and in-store merchandising plans to increase visibility and sales of products.
  • Be the local expert on your market, and new emerging opportunities in all.
  • Attend local consumer shows and national trade shows.
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors/University degree preferred but not required
  • 3 years of sales and/or trade marketing experience preferred
  • Strong persuasive / sales ability / negotiation skills
  • Experience with building and managing a joint business plan
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of general business financials and how these relate to customer programs and decision making
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and resolute attitude to complete tasks
  • Solid analytical skills and acute attention to details
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Conflict Management/Composure; Technical Knowledge
  • Support team and be available to set up/work/tear down tradeshow booths
  • Attend and participate in regional industry networking events
  • USA Driver’s license required
  • Must enjoy traveling, a "Road Warrior Mentality" and Customer Face Time are crucial aspects of this position

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
