Silver Dollar City - Maintenance & Construction Team Member III, Landscaping (Full-Time Seasonal, 2025)

Job Summary: Landscaping Team Members are responsible for keeping Silver Dollar City beautiful. Our breathtaking landscaping is a major component of creating Memories Worth Repeating for our guests. The Landscaping Team works diligently to maintain our grounds, as well as create new landscapes.

This position starts now and ends 10/31/2025.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following, though other duties may be assigned.

• Plant, prune, propagate, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Spread and maintain soil, mulch, and compost.
• Measure, mix, and use fertilizer and soil additives, and appropriate pesticides.
• Diagnose and acknowledge common insects and disease problems.
• Water lawns, trees, and plants.
• Water and maintain greenhouses.
• Make up and hang flower containers and baskets.
• Work with rocks, gravel, and brush.
• Rake, sweep, and shovel.
• Ability to use landscape equipment and hand tools properly.
• Ability to seed and straw new lawns.
• Report equipment issues to management.
• Responds promptly to customers needs, for both guests and employees.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend instructions and communicate in English.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Education and Experience:

• 3 – 5 years of previous professional landscaping experience and/or experience in a Theme Park Industry setting.
• Basic understanding of general maintenance equipment.
• Proof of current certification(s) in any related field or equipment.
• Proof of OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course completion.

• Must be able to lift to 50 and 100 pounds (assisted).
• Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and concrete.
• Must be able to tolerate a outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
• Ability to withstand heights, climbs stairs, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
• Ability to remember locations, understand, and carry instructions.

Work Environment:

This role works primarily outdoors, with occasional indoor tasks in workshops. The role involves exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, and moderate to high noise levels. This position uses tools, requiring physical strength, precision, and adherence to safety protocols. Work includes collaboration with teams and mentors, and independent work, often in physically protective gear.
