Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator – Skilled Nursing Facility
We are seeking a dedicated Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining the nursing staff schedule to ensure optimal coverage and high-quality care for our residents. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to last-minute changes while maintaining efficiency and compliance with facility policies and regulations.
Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator Duties:
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Coordinate shift changes, vacation requests, and call-outs to maintain proper staffing levels.
- Work closely with department heads to address staffing needs and adjust schedules accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of time-off requests, overtime, and shift changes.
- Communicate with employees regarding their schedules, shift availability, and any necessary adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding staffing requirements.
- Assist with recruiting efforts to fill open shifts and address staff shortages.
- Monitor attendance and follow up on absenteeism or tardiness issues.
- Utilize scheduling software to streamline staffing operations.
- Collaborate with HR to address employee concerns related to scheduling and staffing.
Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator Qualifications:
- Previous experience in staffing, scheduling, or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and last-minute scheduling changes.
- Familiarity with scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of healthcare staffing regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
