IT Data Analyst and Report Writer

The IT Data Analyst and Report Writer is responsible for analyzing large datasets, creating reports and dashboards, and ensuring data accuracy. This role collaborates with teams to deliver insights, automate reporting, and provide technical support for data-related issues, while ensuring seamless data integration and management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Data Analysis

• Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Develop and maintain data models, databases, and reporting systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Utilize statistical techniques and software tools to perform comprehensive data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
• Monitor data quality and integrity, ensuring data is clean, consistent, and up-to-date.

Report Writing

• Create clear, concise, and accurate reports and dashboards that reflect key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
• Translate complex data findings into easily understandable insights and actionable recommendations.
• Develop automated reporting processes to streamline data delivery and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure reports are visually appealing and effectively communicate the intended message to stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with the best practices and industry trends in data visualization and reporting techniques.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues and reporting tools.
• Work closely with IT teams to implement data management solutions and ensure seamless data integration.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data warehouses and other data storage solutions.
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Report Writer, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Preferred certifications in data analysis or data management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
• Preferred experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move light objects weighing less than 20 pounds for short distances.
• Ability to sit at a desk and walk around for different periods of time.
