JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Development and Marketing Specialist
FLSA Status: Full time, non-exempt
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (normally)
Department: Department 750 & 900
Reports to: Manager of Marketing

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Development and Marketing Specialist supports the planning and execution of marketing strategies, special events, and communications. This role is responsible for advising on marketing procedures, creating and maintaining marketing and communication calendars, supporting event promotion, and developing branded materials. The Development and Marketing Specialist also contributes to graphic design projects, ensures brand consistency across all platforms, maintains marketing databases, and helps enhance the organization's visibility and engagement through various media channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Responsibilities
- Assist with event planning
- Assist with volunteer and intern programs
Graphic Design Responsibilities
- Schedule projects to meet deadlines
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
- Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using Adobe or other tools
- Use the appropriate brand colors and layouts for each graphic (Brand Management)
- Work with internal departments/team to produce final designs
- Amend designs after feedback
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Social Media Responsibilities and Duties
- Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
- Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities.
- Familiarity with photography and videography for use in social graphics and content.
- Create and curate content for our digital site and social media platforms.
- Design branded physical memorabilia.
- Assist with proofreading or editing other content before publishing.
- Perform background research as needed.
- Review live content monthly and create reports outlining success rates.
- Create email marketing campaigns. Website Management

VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT RESONSIBILITIES
Silver Key is a volunteer centric organization. You may be regularly interacting and engaging with volunteers, so it is your responsibility to show appreciation for their efforts and occasionally provide guidance. This position also works closely with student marketing interns, so you will need to be willing and able to support our interns so that they have a positive and productive intern experience.
DRIVING DUTIES
Ability to drive to community events.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Mailchimp, Word Press, Canva, Microsoft Suite
DESIRABLE, PREFERRED, OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- At least two years of design experience preferred
- Experience with a donor CRM preferred
TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY (may make changes to this if needed)
This position requires good proficiency in the use of computer software and applications, office equipment, and professional telephone use. The ability to adequately type quickly with few to no errors is also very important. This position will often require multi-tasking in the use of computers, phone, and office equipment while interacting with clients. Candidates for this position may be required to take and pass technology proficiency assessments prior to employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, statistical and mathematical abilities, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write complex reports and distill information for many audiences. Proficiency in non-English languages is highly valued.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain a Colorado Driver's License (if necessary).PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires standing, walking and sitting for periods of time. Utilization of hands and fingers to operate office computer keyboard and equipment required. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and stoop, kneel or crouch if needed. Must be able to lift to 40 pounds as needed.
VISION REQUIREMENTS
Position requires close, distance, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Moderate noise within business office atmosphere with computers, printers, and light traffic.
