We are seeking a full time Program Manager to coordinate before or after school chess clubs, camps, and teaching staff in Northern Virginia. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring high program quality in approximately 60-80 elementary schools each week and continued growth of clubs.
Silver Knights Chess (known as Magnus Chess Academy until February 2025) has taught chess to over 100,000 children over the last 15 years. We offer in-person classes, camps, and tournaments in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland, as well as an online Academy with players from all 50 states and 30 countries. This Job Is...
- Administrative work. You will be the point person to email, call, and meet with schools or PTAs. You'll coordinate the associated marketing and registration. You'll ensure high quality in your chess programs on a daily basis by reviewing club notes and other associated duties. Data entry, proficiency, organization, and attention to detail are especially important to this position.
- Employee Management. You'll manage, schedule, mentor, visit, and evaluate a team of between 20 to 30 part-time chess coaches and aides.
- Customer Service. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships to all types of customers -- individual parents, schools & PTAs, and more. You'll visit chess clubs to monitor program quality and maintain positive relationships with site representatives.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a salaried position with annual compensation of $50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience, payable biweekly. Benefits include paid time off, health/dental benefits, mileage reimbursement, professional development opportunities and retirement matching starting in the 3rd calendar year of employment.
Additional Information:
This is a full time, hybrid work position that includes work from home opportunities, in-person site visits (Loudoun County, western Fairfax and surrounding areas) and working at our headquarters in Fairfax, VA. Reliable transportation is required.
