Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire experienced full time, part time, per diem Dialysis Technicians to provide quality care to patients in need of dialysis treatment under the direction of a Dialysis Nurse. Dialysis Technicians rates commensurate with experience.
ABOUT SILVER LAKE HOSPITAL
Silver Lake Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital with a reputation of providing patients with a place to heal before heading home. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in traditional general hospitals. The average length of stay in an LTACH is 25 days as compared to a 3-5 day average stay in a general hospital. Our safe and state of the art hospital is designed to admit and care for the most critically ill patients.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of a Dialysis Nurse, the Dialysis Technicians are responsible for assembling and maintaining dialysis machines, monitoring patients undergoing dialysis treatment, and maintaining the highest safety and cleanliness standards when operating the machines. The position involves direct patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of hemodialysis experience required.
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- The ability to operate dialysis machines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
