The Role:
This position will be integral to the day-to-day execution and success of Silver Maple Woodworks'. You are responsible for applying stains and finishes to the array of custom products our talented craftspeople produce. This position's tasks include sanding wood and sealed cabinets, staining, and applying sealers and topcoats, among other responsibilities as needed. We are committed to high attention to detail and quality control. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure all products are executed to Silver Maple’s standards of excellence.

- A minimum of 2 years of woodworking experience and 3 years of finish experience
- Prepare wood surfaces for finishing through sanding, cleaning, and conditioning.
- Apply stains, sealers, lacquers, varnishes, and other finishes using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Proficiency in mixing and spraying a wide range of pre and post-catalyzed waterborne and solvent-based finishes.
- Operate, clean, and maintain spray equipment.
- Mix and match finishes to achieve desired colors and effects according to specifications.
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections and correct issues before and during the finishing process.
- Monitor environmental conditions to ensure optimal finishing results.
- Document finishing processes and maintaining accurate records of materials used for recordkeeping.
- Sanding between coats.
- Maintain a clean and organized finishing area while following all safety protocols.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position in a state-of-the-art woodworking facility
- Climate-controlled spray booth and finishing area
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including a respirator, safety glasses, and protective clothing
- Exposure to wood dust and finishing materials
