We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Staff Accountant to help manage the day-to-day payroll and accounts payable operations. You’ll have strong accounting acumen, a passion for our mission, and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude that matches our team culture.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for:
- Performing accounting activities needed to produce accurate and timely financial statements.
- Performing month-end journal entries and associated reconciliations by working with different areas of the hospital to ensure all transactions are accounted for in the correct period.
- Preparing detailed account reconciliations.
- Entering invoices into Medhost on a daily basis after receiving approval from various departments.
- Compile A/P aging reports on a bi-weekly basis to determine which checks need to be processed.
- Preparation of journal entries, completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of the facility fixed assets register.
- Analyzes actual-to-budget variance of facility operating expenses.
- Reviews accounts payable coding and aging.
- Serves as backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Participates in monthly accounting close as assigned.
- Assists Controller in production of Monthly Operating Report (MOR).
- Assists Controller in completion of external requests, such as interim and year-end audits, workman’s compensation audit, etc.
Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in accounting and month-end closing activities preferred. Hospital experience preferred. Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) preferred. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills necessary. Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor needed.
- Additional Requirements: CPA preferred. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation:
This is a full-time role and the expected compensation range is $65,000-$75,000/annually. We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Staff Accountant!
