Calson Management is hiring an Activity Director for Silver Oaks Memory Care is located in Menlo Park, CA and is a 40-unit facility(silveroaksmc.com)

Schedule-Tuesday-Saturday, hours to be discussed.

Pay Rate- $25.00 Hourly

Must clear FBI and DOJ Clearance, interested in a rewarding career.

Must Have: Driver's License required to drive residents

Ability to: Plan Events and classes, manage budget, collaborate and encourage resident participation.

Our Activity Director will build meaningful relationships with the seniors and their families and will be part of a team that strives to care for and support their residents the same way they would care for their own loved ones.

The primary purpose of the Activity Director position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activities in accordance with current federal, state, local and corporate standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of each resident.

Duties:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the resident-centered activities for the facility.
  • Keep note of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards.
  • Provide good communication between employees of all levels, residents, their families, support personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the public to ensure the needs and best interest of the residents, community and facility are met to the extent possible.
  • Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies
  • Assist in reviewing and developing a plan of correction for activity deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such report to the Administrator.
  • Participate in regular meetings
  • Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
  • Assist in arranging transportation for residents when necessary, including, but not limited to, resident outings, to/from appointments, or for discharge.
  • Develop a monthly activity schedule for residents, which include resident outings, regularly scheduled group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents.
  • Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities including hobbies, crafts, and reading Provide materials as necessary including reading materials in Braille or audio books as appropriate.

OUR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Due to our Licensing we are required to have a clear LiveScan clean of convictions or active arrests for all of our employees in order to be hired.

The LiveScan is required when applicants are candidates for positions that place them in a position of trust for some of California’s most vulnerable citizens, including elderly and dependent adults and children, it is vital for the licensing authority to be aware of convictions or active arrests to avoid exposing clients in care to unnecessary harm.

We will pay for this and help you set up the appointment.

  • Must have a TB test and we ask that you get a flu shot.

Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment. This certification must verify that the Candidate has no communicable diseases, open lesions, or any other health problem, which could interfere with the individual’s job performance.

  • Must have current Adult First Aid card at the time of employment and maintain throughout the length of employment.
  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age. Shall have a high school diploma or equivalent. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • Possesses clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Professional in appearance and conduct.
  • The Candidate understands that the community operates as a Drug-Free Workplace per policies set forth in the Company Handbook.
  • Must have dependable transportation and be able to work varying hours as needed, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • This job may require the employee to lift in excess of 25 pounds on occasion, which is a qualification for this position. It may also require the mandatory use of a gait belt and the wearing of a back brace for more difficult residents.
  • You will be expected to report to work on time or give the Administrator adequate notice if you are unable to show for work: at least four (4) hours’ notice.
  • Participate in mandatory on-going education and in-service training.
