Technician Job Description
We are seeking a technician who will repair, maintain, and install espresso, coffee, and tea equipment. In this position, you will work with chefs, managers, and staff to maintain equipment in proper working order. You will also be required to keep a repair log for all field equipment and communicate regularly with front office staff on status of repairs and jobs. You will be reporting to an assigned manager.
Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze all aspects of beverage equipment in the field
- Test devices for improvement, safety, and quality control
- Repair broken equipment as necessary
- Review and maintain customer status and repair log
- Perform and analyze tests on equipment to track results and make corrections
- Work with customers and make recommendations on equipment upkeep or replacement
- Check water quality and recommend the proper filtration as needed
- Perform calibrations to ensure machine is making the highest quality beverage
- Be attentive to customer needs and try to help them to the best of your ability
- Refurbish equipment at the warehouse while not on an active job
- Maintain a log of equipment in house that can be used to swap at customer location if needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects
- Able to take initiative to recommend equipment, equipment updates, or cost reductions
- Strict attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Four to five years of experience as a technician, technician apprentice, or relevant work experience
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Excellent communicator; able to understand instructions and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of local area to ensure proper routing
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
