Job Title: Locators
General Summary:
Silver Star Communications is seeking a skilled Locator to mark existing outside plant (OSP) underground utilities in accordance with Wyoming and Idaho damage prevention statutes. The successful candidate will work closely with OSP Engineers and Mapping Coordinators to ensure the safe and efficient planning and maintenance of OSP facilities.
Essential Job Functions/Certifications:
- Locate and mark buried utilities to protect infrastructure and maintain operational OSP facilities.
- Operate locating equipment to identify underground and related plant facilities.
- Knowledge and adherence to state underground facilities damage prevention laws and regulations.
- Install and maintain bonding and grounding wires.
- Record and provide GPS data for locations of telephone/broadband facilities.
- Document cut cables for billing repairs and prepare damage reports.
- Foster a team environment that promotes innovation, creativity, and forward thinking to meet company needs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience preferred.
- Hold a valid Wyoming or Idaho Driver's License.
Responsibilities Include:
- Field verification of existing facilities to maintain accurate records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Certifications:
- Obtain Locating Utility Certification.
Key Responsibilities:
