Job Overview
Silver Star Communications seeks a skilled Telecommunications Installation Specialist to install and maintain outside plant (OSP) copper and fiber optic facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OSP telecommunications, with experience installing direct buried cable and other facilities using plowing, digging, and trenching equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install OSP facilities according to engineered work orders or service orders in compliance with RUS and NEC standards.
- Reclaim construction area to company standards.
- Install and maintain copper and fiber optic cable and distribution systems.
- Perform copper splicing to company and RUS standards.
- Locate buried copper and fiber optic facilities.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on OSP facilities, buried cable, pedestals, hand holes, manholes, etc.
- Install and maintain network interface devices (NID) and Optical Network Terminals (ONT).
Requirements
- High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience preferred.
- Ability to hold a valid Wyoming or Idaho Driver's License.
