Assistant Asphalt Superintendent

2401 S. Broadway Ave. Moore, OK 73160, USA *Full-Time

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company - is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help oversee the construction project by coordinating and communicating with the Field Operations Manager and Project Managers in their area of expertise.

Requirements

• Ensures safety and quality are the 1st priority
• 2-5 Years preferred experience with Asphalt
• Ensure all projects have OKIE spots in place prior to allowing work to begin on a project
• Ensure all projects have erosion control measures in place prior to allowing work to begin on a project
• Manage teams on schedules, progress and resource allocations
• Acts as liaison between the Field Foreman, Field Operations Manager and Project Managers
• Monitor that teams are starting production at scheduled start times and if not find the cause of delay and adjust accordingly.
• Work with Project Managers and Inspectors on jobs to meet QC standards and communicate progress of project.
• Be able to plan out ahead of your teams to help the flow of progress from project to project.
• Work with team leaders on efficiency and development of their teams.
• Work with Maintenance department in scheduling repairs and service of equipment and communicate to teams of importance that we try to meet those goals.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must pass the background check, drug screen/physical
• Driving Record - (5 points or less)
• Superintendent knowledge
• Able to read and interpret blueprints
• Good oral and written communication skills - not limited to: cell phone, email, computer, I-pad, etc.
• Maintain good leadership skills
• Mathematical and mechanical knowledge
• Ability to identify deficiencies and provide suggestions or resolution
• Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
• Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Must be able to perform physical tasks, such as bending, standing, crouching, shoveling, etc.
• Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work effectively with others
