What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser CNC Operator position at Silver Star Industries, Inc?
As a Laser CNC Operator, you will be a vital part of our manufacturing team, utilizing your core skills in mechanical knowledge, manufacturing, and machining to operate CNC laser cutting machines efficiently. With relevant skills in blueprint reading, fabrication, and quality inspection, you will contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of our production processes.
Requirements:
- One year or more experience operating and maintaining CNC machines, preferably with lasers and experience in signage and graphics.
- Must be able to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, layouts and technical / non-technical information and use this information to evaluate and execute a laser process.
- Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on CNC cutting equipment.
- Ability to multi-task to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform daily machine alignment and cleaning procedures to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
- Maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls.
- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs. frequently.
Misc Duties:
- Maintain stock inventory of raw materials and supplies for the lasers.
- Stage raw materials at each work-center for production.
- Load and unload machines.
- Must be able to work and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced team environment, but also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Bonus Skills:
- Solidworks, etc. computer aided drafting and/or programming experience is a plus; but not required.
- Forklift experience.
- Experience with Kern laser systems.
- Perform machining process development & optimization activities such as: part setup/nesting, machining strategy/order of operations, speed/feed parameter selection.
- Maintain equipment by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine inspections and focus calibrations, and coordinating equipment repairs when required.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
