Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our metal fabrication processes and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. The Metal Fabrication Technician will work under the supervision of the Shop Foreman and will be responsible for various tasks that contribute to the overall success of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help with assembly and finishing processes, including grinding, sanding, and polishing.
- Prepare and cut materials according to specifications using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety protocols are always followed.
- Support welders and fabricators by providing materials and tools as needed.
- Assist in quality control by inspecting pieces for defects and ensuring they meet specifications.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a metal shop or fabrication environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of metalworking tools and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in math and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions accurately.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and operate equipment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
