Silver Star Technology, a part of Silver Star Protection Group, is a leading provider of security and AI. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining camera alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and high-security environments. As we expand our fire alarm division, we are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer with NICET IV certification to lead our team, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and manage complex projects.
Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee our fire alarm operations, including system design, code compliance, and project execution. This role will be responsible for submitting fire alarm plans to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), ensuring NFPA 72 compliance, and guiding our team of technicians in high-level system implementation. On a daily basis, this role would involve working as part of our installation team. In the event of a fire alarm project, this role would handle all necessary permits and paperwork. Once the project beings, this role will manage the project, commission the system, and ensure a successful handover to the customer.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design & Engineering : Lead the design and engineering of fire alarm systems for commercial and industrial projects in accordance with NFPA 72, IBC, and local AHJ requirements.
- Plan Submissions & Compliance : Prepare and submit fire alarm system drawings to the AHJ, ensuring all required documentation, calculations, and compliance stamps are included.
- NICET & Regulatory Oversight : Ensure that all work meets Illinois licensing and NICET certification standards, and act as the primary point of contact for fire alarm regulatory bodies.
- Team Leadership : Train, mentor, and supervise a team of fire alarm technicians and designers, ensuring efficiency and compliance in all projects.
- Project Management : Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure the successful execution of fire alarm system installations and maintenance.
- Collaboration : Work with general contractors, architects, electrical engineers, and clients to design fire alarm systems that meet industry and client-specific needs.
- Technical Documentation : Provide detailed shop drawings, voltage drop calculations, battery calculations, and riser diagrams for fire alarm installations.
- AHJ & Customer Relations : Serve as the company’s technical expert in fire alarm system compliance, inspections, and approval processes.
