General Summary:
The Sales Engineer is a customer facing pre-sales role. Working with sales, the Sales Engineer will assist in understanding customer’s requirements, design and scoping of comprehensive networking and business technical solutions, delivering sales presentations, presenting technical information about product and services, conducting product demonstration, installation product evaluations, assisting in responding to RFP’s and RFI’s, and the creating of Statements of Work for business solutions.
Essential Job Functions / Certifications:
· Assist the sales and customer service staff with technical sales activities in new and existing opportunities.
· Technical value proposition creation by identifying customer needs; engineering solutions utilizing our products, equipment, and services.
· Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
· Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
· Works with RFP managers to answer questions regarding costs, technical design options, configurations etc.
· Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
· Assists in new product development, determine demand for new products, pricing strategies, and marketing materials.
· Liaison to Management for issues surrounding marketing, product development, competitive issues, technology deployment and partnership synergies.
· Liaison to other departments to develop solutions for customers.
· Develops internal and customer staff by providing technical information and training.
· Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
· Helps ensure sales department meets their assigned quotas.
· Keeps current on technology, regulatory guidelines, and communications industry.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Network Certification preferred.
· Participates in customer facing events.
Minimum Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of experience in a technical sales related field.
· Ability to hold a valid Wyoming or Idaho Driver's License.
