Overview
Silver State Adolescent Treatment Center is a new Pyschiatric Residential Treatment Program dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care for adolescents. We are committed to creating a supportive and therapeutic environment where our patients can recover, heal, and thrive.

Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Behavioral Health Technician, or BHT, to join the team. Our ideal candidate will have experience in mental health and a passion for working with adolescents suffering from chronic serious mental illness.

Duties

  • Ensure the well-being of residents and provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment.
  • Responsible for conducting safety checks and ensuring that supervision is conducted at 15-minute intervals or in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines as needed.
  • Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in residents’ record.
  • Assist in providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for residents, significant others, and staff.
  • Interact routinely with residents, observe behavior, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
  • Oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration, and changing bed linens.
  • May obtain residents’ vital signs, height and weight, as assigned and document in the residents chart.
  • Facilitate residents educational-rehabilitative groups which cover a variety of topics including social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills.
  • Engage in resident activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation. Assist with follow-up and paperwork as required on incidents and events that take place in the facility.
  • May provide transportation of residents or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff members.
  • Support & Intervention - verbally support clients as needed in times of confusion, discontent, and disappointment, helping them to understand the value of the treatment experience while maintaining appropriate boundaries. De-escalation of situations through nonviolent crisis interventions and personal commitment to their wellbeing.
  • Prepare rooms/units for new clients - When a client discharges treatment, his/her unit must be prepared for the next client, including but not limited to laundry, bedding, sanitizing all areas and cleaning the refrigerator.
  • Perform routine facility maintenance as needed. IE: change light bulbs, air filters etc.
  • Help maintain a clean facility being sure that all trash is emptied, staff areas are kept clean and tidy, outside facility areas are kept debris free, IE: cigarette butts, fallen fruit, cups or any other items not in their appropriate place. General housekeeping as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record, as determined by Virtue’s insurance carrier
  • Ability to operate 15-passenger van
  • Must be 25 years of age (requirement in order to drive company vans)
  • Knowledge of Windows, basic email, Microsoft Word, timekeeping software, and basic computer navigational skills.
  • Ability to write professional correspondence and reports free from grammatical and spelling mistakes.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret emails, letters, policies, procedures, etc.

  • Team player
  • Professional and/or personal experience with substance abuse treatment highly preferred
  • High level of patience
  • Active CPR and First Aid certification required.
