What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Silver Wood Homes - Silver Leaf Interiors INC?
Silver Wood Homes and Silver Leaf Interiors specializes in residential new home construction and renovations. We have been remodeling and building homes in the Madison area since 1990.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendant to join our team. The ideal candidate would have both renovation and new home construction experience. We take pride in the custom details and are looking to employ a like-minded individual to join our team. This role is directly supported by our Office Project Manager and Design team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Construction Knowledge
- Knowledge of all phases of new construction, remodeling practices, construction standards and building codes.
- Coordinates and supervises construction projects from start to finish.
- Conducts regular site visits to inspect work for quality, safety, and adherence to plans.
- Attends trade walk throughs for renovation projects and identifies potential issues for smoother scheduling and planning.
- Responsible for ensuring job site conditions are clean and organized.
- Job site protection, handling of punch list items and warranty work will be required. Minor finish carpentry work on occasion.
Trade and Vendor Communication
- Professionally resolves issues or conflicts that arise.
- Proactively communicates and keeps track of all details.
- Promotes efficiency and teamwork amongst the trades.
- Tracks and delivers jobsite fixtures and materials as needed.
Client Relations
- Maintains a neat appearance and provides excellent customer service to clients. Is both responsive and proactive in communication.
- Ability to answer questions and explain processes to promote and build client trust.
Scheduling
- Solely accountable for creating and maintaining project schedules in BuilderTrend.
- Takes action to mitigate delays and maintains 3 week look-ahead for all job schedules.
Project Documentation
- Ability to see the big picture while also keeping track of the details and proactively following up.
- Timely with documentation including schedule changes, daily logs, trade To-Do’s, job site photos, and change orders.
- Must be able to pivot and self-prioritize to meet deadlines, budget constraints and client requests.
- Ability to locate and share project documentation via SharePoint and Outlook email.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Experience:
- 5 years preferred
