What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Safety and Loss Prevention Officer position at Silverado Resort?
SALARY RANGE: $21.00-$22.00 per hour. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for providing protection and communication with resort guests and employees. The role is also responsible for patrolling resort premises to maintain security, detect and report fire, security, and safety hazards and/or violations of the resorts' rules and regulations.
Essential Functions
• Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
• Must actively participate in team member referral program and be a Talent Ambassador for Silverado Resort.
• Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
• Maintain visual contact with the Front Desk/Night Auditor and the front door of the resort by remaining in the Lobby area when not on property walks.
• Maintain and review daily activity log.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.
• Hold briefings with Guest Services staff both at the beginning and end of shift.
• Check ID of visitors/employees as necessary.
• Access secured areas for authorized personnel.
• Maintain an awareness of legal limitation of position (local, state and/or federal ordinances).
• Assist guests to their rooms or assist guest’s w/entry into their rooms according to resort standards.
• Assist during medical emergencies.
• Respond to emergency situations, including medical, security, guest complaints, etc.
• Assist outside agencies, as necessary, to maintain effective liaison.
• Respond to altercations and investigate.
• Have knowledge of resort and guestroom locking systems.
• Monitor TV cameras, if applicable.
• Administer First Aid/CPR as necessary.
• Report suspicious activities on property and check safety hazards.
• Complete Incident/Accident reports in a clear and concise manner.
• Patrol area to ensure that areas are secure and free of unauthorized persons and disturbances.
• Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
• Experience at a resort or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license is a must.
• Must be 18 to operate a golf cart.
Working Conditions and Schedule
• Weekend and holiday availability is required as well as flexibility with work schedule.
• The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Must be able to climb stairs, descend stairs and run.
• On occasion must physically deter individuals who pose a threat to guests and/or employees.
• This role requires operating of a golf cart and a company owed vehicle.
