What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pickleball Coach position at Silverado Resort?
SALARY RANGE - This position pays Minimum Wage $16.50/hour plus tips. Pickleball coach will be in charge of delivering top-tier instruction, foster player development, and create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for both beginners and advanced players.
Primary Responsibilities
- Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
- Must actively participate in team member referral program and be a Talent Ambassador for Silverado Resort.
- Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
- Conduct individual and group pickleball lessons for members and guests of all skill levels.
- Develop and implement engaging coaching programs, including clinics, workshops, and tournaments, tailored to various skill levels.
- Create and maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment, fostering growth and enjoyment for all participants.
- Provide personalized feedback and develop training plans to help players improve their technique, strategy, and overall performance.
- Lead fun, social pickleball events and assist with organizing and running club tournaments.
- Stay up-to-date with pickleball trends, techniques, and strategies, and integrate these into lessons and programs.
- Work closely with other coaches and the sports team to coordinate and ensure seamless operations of racquet sports offerings.
- Promote the resort’s pickleball facilities, programs, and services to guests and members, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Maintain the upkeep of pickleball courts, ensuring they are in optimal condition for use.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience coaching pickleball, with a passion for teaching and mentoring players of all levels.
- Tennis coaching experience is highly preferred, as skills are transferable and beneficial to both sports.
- Knowledge of pickleball rules, strategy, and techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Ability to provide tailored instruction based on individual player needs and goals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Certification in pickleball coaching (such as from the Professional Pickleball Registry) is a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience working at a luxury resort, country club, or similar high-end facility is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is required.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Medium work - Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
