The classroom support staff member will provide assistance to the teacher in the classroom and follow the lead of that teacher.  They may also support the Elementary School staff in other areas and in helping students in a small group setting with tutoring and other duties that will support students.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and continuous attendance on campus
• Good attendance is important and ensures that students/teachers receive the support they need and maintains a stable and positive environment in the classroom
• Support classroom activities by assisting with hands-on learning tasks and projects
• Assist with assessments and evaluations, providing feedback as needed
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students during lessons
• Assist the teacher in maintaining an orderly, organized, and efficient classroom
• Help with setting up, cleaning up, and preparing materials for classroom lessons and activities
• Help with grading assignments, filing student work, and organizing student portfolios
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops as required
• Demonstrate an understanding of childhood development and behavior
• Promote a positive climate
• Support ideas and policies of the teacher and the administration
• Establish and maintain rapport with parents and staff

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

• High School Diploma
• Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and partner with parents
• Understands that young children require a consistent, spiritual, safe, loving, and nurturing environment
• Will partner with parents to raise children who have a heart for Christ as well as preparing them for success in future education
