What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theatre Teacher - Upper School position at Silverdale Baptist Academy?
The theatre teacher will help oversee the planning, implementation, and facilitation of all areas of the high school and middle school theatre programs.
The Theatre Teacher must exhibit:

Responsibilities
- Teach classes as assigned by the administration.
- Coordinate all aspects of the high school and middle school Theatre programs.
- Direct on-stage aspects of all performances.
- Work with the Director of the Performing Arts to coordinate backstage and technical aspects of all performances.
- Organize costuming and set design/construction.
- Work with the Director of the Performing Arts to coordinate set design with STEAM components.
- Work closely with the Arts administration to schedule and advertise performances.
- Coordinate the Theatre department learning experiences with appropriate administrative staff.
- Assist in planning and organizing theatre-related trips, projects, etc.
- Assume responsibility for performing any work as assigned by the direct supervisor.
- Promote Friends of the Arts.
- Willingness to assist with or teach Summer Camps related to theatre.
- Maintain communication and work closely with Arts administration and Arts teachers, as needed.
- Maintain communication and a working relationship with Silverdale Baptist Church and its staff.
- Maintains a professional standard of dress and an engaging personality
- Prompt and continuous attendance on campus
Minimum Qualifications
- Committed to following Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrate skills, talents, and knowledge of theatre.
- Experience in producing and directing theatre performances.
- Must be dedicated, hard-working, and organized.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize events, exercise collaboration, and use problem-solving skills.
- Ability to hold after-school rehearsals and attend events on evenings and weekends.
- Bachelors degree in theatre and/or education is preferred.
