This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.
Role Overview
The Architectural Engineer will provide expert services in research and review of the design, development, construction, alteration, or repair of diplomatic buildings and structures. This role ensures that construction projects meet Department of State (DoS) and Intelligence Community (IC) security standards, while offering critical support to Congressional certification processes, policy development, and stakeholder collaboration.
Primary Duties
- Review project plans, Construction Security Plans, construction blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical data to ensure compliance with relevant DoS and IC standards.
- Provide advice and guidance to federal leadership on recommended changes and solutions to address security deficiencies.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders on solutions and design remediations.
- Assist in the preparation of Congressional certification or internal confirmation packages.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) with architectural and engineering insights into technical security vulnerabilities, including electrical power systems and red / black isolation.
- Review and report on Construction Security Plans for compliance with relevant standards.
- Provide consulting advice and written recommendations for proposed changes to policies and standards.
- Support the Congressional security certification process for U.S. diplomatic facilities.
- Contribute architectural and engineering input to draft policies, best practices, and studies.
