What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutor/Teaching Assistant position at Silvergate Preparatory?
Silvergate Prep is currently seeking a part time in person teaching assistant for 25 hrs a week. This is a seasonal 10-month position.
Job Goal: To ensure that students enrolled in GenPsych Partial Day Program are provided with an ongoing educational program.
Performance Duties:
1. Administrative Responsibility
- Checks/ Payment for additional tutoring must be documented on a receipt and the Copay form.
- Files and scans attendance onto the shared drive.
- Keeps, maintains, and files such reports and records as may be required.
- Responsible for creating new academic folders for new students.
2. Student Management
- Facilitates a positive and orderly environment for learning.
- Creates positive learning environment during study hall.
- Assists with de-escalation/ coping skills for students in need.
3. Collaboration with Staff
- Assisting teachers with scanning/ copying/ faxing when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Holds a minim Diploma
- Has worked with children/ special needs population.
